almonds
There is evidence that almonds can contribute to a healthy, balanced diet.
Loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, almonds have three essential health benefits:
Consumption of almonds contributes to a healthy heart by protecting against heart disease 1Jenkins DJ, et al. Dose response of almonds on coronary heart disease risk factors: blood lipids, oxidized low-density lipoproteins, lipoprotein(a), homocysteine, and pulmonary nitric oxide: a randomized, controlled, crossover trial. Circulation. 2002;106(11):1327-1332.
Almonds contain dietary fibre and may act like a prebiotic, supporting digestive health 2Ellsworth JL, et al. Frequent nut intake and risk of death from coronary heart disease and all causes in postmenopausal women: the Iowa Women‘s Health Study. Nutrition Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease 2001;11(6):372-7.
Almonds support maintaining a healthy weight and supports weight loss 3Foster GD, et al. A randomized trial of the effects of an almond-enriched, hypocaloric diet in the treatment of obesity. Am J Clin Nutr. 2012;96(2):249-54.
cashews
Similar to almonds, cashews are a great addition to any diet. They contain life-giving vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals.
Cashews are a rich source of healthy fats (63% monounsaturated fat) 4Nuts for Life. 2016 Nutrient Composition of Tree Nuts. Sydney: Nuts for Life; 2016.
Cashews stabilise blood glucose levels with a low glycemic index (GI) score of 25. Low GI foods are digested and absorbed more slowly, which helps with appetite control. 5Livesey G, et al. Glycemic response and health – a systematic review and meta-analysis: relations between dietary glycemic properties and health outcomes. Am J Clin Nutr. 2008;87(1):258S-268S.
As a rich source of magnesium, cashews are beneficial to muscle and bone health 4Nuts for Life. 2016 Nutrient Composition of Tree Nuts. Sydney: Nuts for Life; 2016.
coconut water
Coconut water, sometimes known as coconut ‘juice’, is the clear liquid found in coconuts.
The hydrating drink is extracted straight from coconuts and contains electrolytes like potassium that helps support fluid balance and nerve and muscle function.
Coconut water is a healthy alternative to sugar-laden processed fluids.
celtic sea salt
Celtic Sea Salt is popular for its trace mineral content, found naturally at the source of extraction.
Too much salt in our diet can be damaging, especially as regular table salt is highly processed with industrial chemicals. Celtic sea salt however is harvested manually to reduce processing and nothing is added or removed. This approach retains the life-giving trace mineral content.
filtered water
Used to blend the almonds and cashews, finely filtering the water means ensuring the end product is pure and free from impurities and harsh chemicals.

- Maintaining normal fluid and electrolyte balance in the body
Made naturally
Simple, natural ingredients deserve simple, natural processing. To preserve what nature intended, we handle our ingredients with care so that each glass is filled with goodness. Our process does not incorporate any heating, which helps preserve the inherent nutrient content of our raw ingredients.
Our simple process, as easy as 1-2-3!
1
wash and soak
The almonds and cashews are washed and gently soaked for up to 24 hours, preparing them for blending.
2
blending
Blending results in a pulp and our nourishing mylk.
3
extraction
The mylk is carefully extracted by hand, using a muslin cloth to ensure no goodness is left behind.
Once our unhurried preparation is complete, things speed up!
bottling
We bottle our mylk in 100% recyclable packaging so you can be sure we are good for your health as well as the environment.
distribution
Once bottling has taken place, our mylk is collected and distributed on the same day to ensure that the freshest possible product is delivered to you. A fresher product in your fridge means that the maximum amount of nutrition, taste and flavour can be enjoyed in each glass.

meet Samar
Meet the maker
Fourteen years ago, before the big commercial interest in dairy-free and nut mylks, one of my beautiful children was born with a dairy allergy, followed by two more who also presented with dairy allergies. This led me to meticulously read the information panel on every purchase I made for our home.
From one family to another, I understand the need to have a keen interest in the health and well-being of my children—I now have four beautiful kids and I always found it very difficult to find nutritious options for our family that were also tasty! Nut mylk products that were available didn’t have enough nuts in them (at times only 1%) and they were riddled with additives.
That was when I decided to follow up my interest in understanding nutrition for myself and making my own home-made nut mylks.

Our current recipes have been 14 years in the making and it has been a fun and eye-opening process of discovery and learning how to keep the recipe simple.
I have spent a lot of time personally driving to various Melbourne-based suppliers, tasting and trialing the mylk to produce the creamy texture and taste we all love now. The process took time but I was determined to produce the finest taste possible. My kids were the first champions of my nut mylks. Then my friends tried our mylk at home and loved it. They often insisted on buying it. This encouraged me to create a small boutique nut mylk business, that led to the birth of the Nuthouse Co.
I welcome you to taste the difference of Nuthouse mylks and share the joy with your friends and family.

What is the shelf life of Nuthouse mylk?
The Nuthouse “Sweet & Creamy” mylk has a shelf life of 5 days, and the Nuthouse “Creamy” has a shelf life of 6 days.
Why the short shelf life? Nuthouse mylk is raw. We make the mylk fresh each Monday and Thursday and do not pasteurise the mylk which would reduce the nutritional benefits of the mylk. The convenience of our fridge-to-door delivery means you are always sure to have fresh mylk on hand. We believe in keeping it fresh and simple!
Can I freeze the mylk?
Yes you can, as long as you consume the mylk within 3-4 days after thawing. Freezing and thawing however will cause the mylk to separate but the taste should not be compromised.
Hot tip: Freeze your mylk into ice cubes then you can also enjoy it in an ice cold beverage or simply add the mylky ice cubes to your smoothie for a thicker more refreshing addition.
